1 Dead, 2 Injured in Triple Shooting on Victory Boulevard in Portsmouth
One man was killed and two other people were injured in a triple shooting early Monday morning, August 3, 2026, in Portsmouth, Virginia, police said.
Shooting Reported Near Victory Boulevard
According to the Portsmouth Police Department, officers working nearby heard gunfire at approximately 3:05 a.m. and immediately responded to a commercial parking lot behind businesses in the 3500 block of Victory Boulevard near Greenwood Drive.
When officers arrived, they found a large crowd gathered outside the businesses and began searching the area for victims.
Three People Shot
Police located an unresponsive adult man in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of family.
A second victim was found at the primary scene with gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
While investigators were processing the scene, officers learned of a third gunshot victim at a nearby location. That individual was also taken to a hospital with injuries.
Authorities have not released updates on the conditions of the surviving victims.

The Portsmouth Police Department said the investigation remains active.
No suspects have been identified, and police have not released information regarding a possible motive or announced any arrests.
