Teen Shot in Head at Humble-Area Home in Harris County Texas

A 19-year-old man was critically injured after being shot in the head inside a home in the Humble-area community of Atascocita, Texas, early Wednesday morning. Authorities have taken an 18-year-old suspect into custody as investigators continue working to determine exactly what happened.
Shooting Reported at Harris County Home
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 1:20 a.m. on June 3, 2026, to reports of a shooting at a residence on Spring Brook Pass in the Atascocita area of Harris County.
When deputies arrived, they learned that the victim had already been transported from the scene by his mother. He was initially taken to a nearby hospital before being transferred by helicopter to the Texas Medical Center for advanced treatment.
Authorities said the 19-year-old victim remained in critical but stable condition following the shooting.
Five Teenagers Were Inside the Home
Investigators reported that five teenagers were gathered in an upstairs bedroom before the shooting occurred.
According to detectives, the group had been spending time together playing video games and socializing when the incident took place.
Both the victim and the 18-year-old suspect were reportedly visitors at the residence and did not live in the home.
Officials have not released the identities of those involved.
Initial Information Changed During Investigation
During the early stages of the investigation, deputies received information suggesting that the victim was a family member who had been accidentally shot by a friend.
However, detectives later determined that the victim was not related to the family residing at the home.
Authorities have not provided additional details regarding the circumstances that led to the shooting or what may have occurred immediately before the gunfire.
Suspect Located After Leaving Scene
The 18-year-old suspect reportedly left the residence before law enforcement arrived.
Investigators later located and detained the suspect, who is now facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Firearm Still Missing
Detectives processing the scene recovered evidence from inside the upstairs bedroom, including spent cartridge casings and blood evidence.
However, investigators have not yet recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.
