29-Year-Old Fatally Shot in the Head in the Bronx

A 29-year-old man was fatally shot during an argument inside a restaurant in the Fordham neighborhood of the Bronx early Thursday morning, July 16, 2026, according to the NYPD.

Shooting Inside Bronx Restaurant

Police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault at approximately 4:26 a.m. at the M Lounge Restaurant, located at 2362 Jerome Ave. near West 184th Street.

Investigators said the shooting began after an argument involving two men inside the restaurant’s basement. Surveillance footage reportedly showed patrons fleeing the building after gunfire erupted.

Officers found the victim outside the restaurant suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Despite lifesaving efforts by first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Victim Identified

Police have not officially released the victim’s identity pending family notification. However, family members identified him as Jaime, also known as Jimmy.

According to relatives, he was a local DJ known in the community and had been at the venue selling sunglasses before the shooting.

Suspects Sought

Authorities are searching for two male suspects who fled the scene on foot.

Police have not announced any arrests, and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

The NYPD continues to investigate the fatal shooting.
