2 Women Shot in Head, Man Shot in Leg on Chicago’s Near West Side

Three people were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning, July 12, 2026, on Chicago’s Near West Side, leaving one woman in critical condition, according to police.

According to the Chicago Police Department, the shooting occurred at approximately 2:18 a.m. in the 100 block of South Honore Street near Adams Street.

Investigators said a silver vehicle pulled alongside a parked silver car occupied by two women before someone inside opened fire. The gunfire left multiple bullet holes in the victims’ vehicle, and officers recovered more than two dozen shell casings from the scene.

Three People Injured

Police said a 35-year-old woman was shot in the head and transported to Stroger Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

A 36-year-old woman suffered a graze wound to the head and was also taken to Stroger Hospital. She is reported to be in good condition.

A 28-year-old man, who was standing nearby when the shooting occurred, was struck in the right leg. He transported himself to Mount Sinai Hospital and is listed in good condition.

Investigation Continues

No suspects have been taken into custody as detectives continue investigating the shooting.

Belmont Area detectives are leading the investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Chicago Police Department.
