A 7-month-old girl was killed after being struck by a stray bullet during a broad-daylight shooting on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in Brooklyn, New York, prompting a citywide manhunt for a suspect.

The baby’s father transported her to Woodhull Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at approximately 1:46 p.m.

Authorities described the suspect as a male with long hair, possibly dreadlocks, wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and a surgical mask. Police said he was last seen running toward the Marcy Houses area.
