NYC Lawsuit Accuses Senior CUNY Director of Groping and Harassing Female Employee

A senior CUNY director allegedly groped, harassed and exposed himself to a subordinate, yet has faced no disciplinary action, according to a new lawsuit.

Krafins Valcin, CUNY’s senior director of academic collaboration technology, allegedly assaulted a 34-year-old IT senior associate after an office happy hour in Manhattan on Dec. 2, 2025, court papers say. The lawsuit was filed Sept. 29 in Manhattan Supreme Court.

The woman said she had worked with Valcin for roughly six months without incident. Because they both live in New Jersey, she agreed to carpool with him after the event, according to the lawsuit.

But as they walked toward Valcin’s car, his behavior allegedly changed, the woman claimed. Her name is being withheld for privacy.

“I can tell you have a fat p—y,” Valcin allegedly told her while grabbing her fingers, according to the lawsuit.

The woman said she was “utterly shocked” by the remark and made clear that she was not interested in him. She alleged that Valcin continued making sexual innuendos and rubbed her thigh “toward her genitals” during the drive home.

After driving her to the train station in Newark, where her car was parked, Valcin allegedly positioned his vehicle in front of hers, preventing her from leaving.

The woman said she was sitting in her car when Valcin approached the driver’s side, opened the door and forced her hand onto his erect penis while saying, “This is what you do to me.”

After she pulled her hand away, Valcin allegedly lowered his pants and exposed himself, the lawsuit states.

The woman, who said she was terrified, reported the incident to Newark police. However, the case was dropped because of a lack of video evidence, a source familiar with the matter told The Post.

Valcin allegedly pleaded for forgiveness afterward and told the woman that he had “more to lose” than she did.

She contacted CUNY’s Title IX office in January after experiencing panic attacks at work, according to the lawsuit.

CUNY officials issued a no-contact order between Valcin and the woman in February, she claimed. Valcin, however, remains in his position.

The woman said the alleged encounter left her so traumatized that she has not returned to the office and has worked from home ever since.

“The worst part is that after being subjected to her co-worker’s inappropriate and degrading sexual advances, CUNY did nothing to reprimand or alter the perpetrator’s employment. Rather than ensuring a safe work environment for the plaintiff, CUNY actually placed the burden on her to adjust her entire workplace to avoid him,” her attorney, Gerald Cohen, told The Post.

Reached by phone, Valcin said he was “shocked” by the lawsuit and denied groping the woman. He declined to comment further.

A CUNY spokesperson said: “CUNY takes allegations of sexual assault and harassment seriously and is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all members of our community. Because this is a pending legal matter, we cannot comment further.”
