What Margaret From 2026’s Sense And Sensibility Looks Like In Real Life – Nicki Swift

Ahead of its October 2026 release in the U.S., fans of Jane Austen and period romances got hyped up about another adaptation of “Sense and Sensibility.” The film is stacked with a slew of talented actors, including Daisy Edgar-Jones from “Normal People,” Caitríona Balfe from “Outlander,” and Esmé Creed-Miles from “The Sandman,” to name a few. Fans of the book were extra excited to see the actors take on their favorite characters. For one “Sense and Sensibility” character, Margaret Dashwood, up-and-coming actor Bodhi Rae Breathnach completely transformed into the beloved figure. But what does she look like in real life?

When Breathnach isn’t in character as Margaret, she looks much the same, albeit without the period clothing and more toned-down hair and makeup. If the young actor is attending events, like the “Sense and Sensibility” premiere in London, England, which she went to with the rest of the cast, she usually has on simple makeup to emphasize her youthful energy and charm. At the world premiere on September 15, 2026, she wore a chic and fresh outfit consisting of a light pink sleeveless top and a complementary silver skirt that fell to her knees. Her hair was styled in soft waves, while her makeup featured light pink eyeshadow and blush.

In real life, the teenager can seem a bit more poised than her character in the film. Margaret is still very much a young girl watching her older sisters navigate adulthood with curiosity. Meanwhile, Breathnach is a delightful actor growing up to be quite the star.

Bodhi Rae Breathnach is a rising star in the film industry

Bodhi Rae Breathnach might still be a teenager at the time of this writing, but she’s also an actor on everyone’s radar. She has a small resume of roles because she’s still a newer face, but Breathnach has starred in quite a few high-profile projects already, and they just keep coming her way. In “Sense and Sensibility,” Breathnach expertly brought the youngest Dashwood sibling to life.

In an interview with Waterstones, the actor talked about what it was like forming a bond with Esmé Creed-Miles and Daisy Edgar-Jones, her on-screen sisters in “Sense and Sensibility,” at the start of filming. She described sitting outside together, painting watercolors, and talking about their past acting experiences. “We had to get to know each other so quickly, so I think that made our bond kind of strong. And I’m glad that it shows on camera,” she added. Breathnach also played another interesting literary figure, Susanna Shakespeare, the oldest child of William Shakespeare and Agnes Hathaway, in “Hamnet,” the critically acclaimed 2025 movie that was nominated for the best picture Oscar.

Breathnach starred alongside Hollywood zaddy Jason Statham and “Love Actually” star Bill Nighy in “Shelter,” while earlier projects include the TV shows “The Capture” and “So Awkward Academy,” proving how expansive her range really is. She also landed a role in the Robert Eggers horror movie “Werwulf,” and she teamed up with her “Sense and Sensibility” co-star Esmé Creed-Miles again to film “A Head Full of Ghosts.” The latter also stars David Harbour and stunning “Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story” leading lady Rebecca Hall, among others. We’re excited to see what else Breathnach has in store as her career flourishes.
