What Carol Seaver From Growing Pains Looks Like Decades After The Show – Women
Remember Carol Seaver, the brainy, frequently annoyed middle child of the Seaver family and younger sister of Mike Seaver, played by ’80s heartthrob Kirk Cameron, on the TV sitcom “Growing Pains”? Well, since the show ended in 1992, Tracey Gold, the actor behind Carol Seaver, is all grown up and looks quite different now decades after the show.
For viewers who grew up watching “Growing Pains,” Gold embodied the quintessential all-American ’80s and ’90s teenage girl. Whether she styled her dark brunette hair curly or straight, she was always rocking the era’s iconic fashion – from crewneck sweaters with puffy, rolled-up sleeves to polo shirts with popped collars that were often paired with pleated acid-wash jeans or floral pants, and high-top sneakers. The former sitcom star, however, hasn’t appeared on-screen in recent years and has largely stayed out of the limelight.
But during an August 2026 sit-down on a Youngstown Studio podcast, followed by a fan meetup and autograph session, fans got the chance to reconnect with the ’90’s star. She appeared alongside fellow “Growing Pains” castmates Jeremy Miller (who played her younger brother Ben Seaver) and Julie McCullough (who played her close friend Julie Costello), as well as Todd Bridges from “Different Strokes.” Like many actors from the ’90s who are totally unrecognizable now, Gold has changed a lot, showing a total transformation with her completely blond hair — a stark departure from the dark brown locks she sported as a teenager on the show.
Who is the actor behind Carol Seaver today?
Two years after “Growing Pains,” Tracey Gold tied the knot with her longtime partner, Roby Marshall, at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Hollywood. In the years that followed, they welcomed four sons: Sage, Bailey, Aiden, and Dylan. She also took on a few more acting roles, appearing in her last known film, “All Hallows’ Eve,” as Didi Hallow, released in September 2016.
At the time of this report, Gold resides in Santa Clarita Valley in California, where she works as an acting coach at Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts (SCSOPA). “I love teaching kids acting skills, for whether they want to be professional actors [or] if it’s to help them get out of their comfort zone,” she said in a 2025 SCSOPA Instagram video. “It’s inspiring to be able to teach kids who just love to do it, and just love to perform, and entertain, and SCSOPA is the best place to be, and I feel very lucky to be working here.”
In another rare public appearance, the acting coach was snapped during a November 2025 meet-and-greet at Zombie Hideout. Wearing her blond hair swept up at the back, with a side-parted fringe and tendrils framing her face, Gold opted for a black leather jacket over a burgundy turtleneck top, paired with leggings for the occasion. It might have been several decades since fans have seen her play the teenager Carol Seaver, but Gold still has the familiar face and signature smile that viewers came to know on “Growing Pains.”
