2 Dead, 35 Injured in Vienna Georgia Homecoming Block Party Shooting
Two people were killed and 35 others were injured early Sunday morning when gunfire erupted during a homecoming block party in Vienna, Georgia, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The shooting happened as a large crowd gathered in the city, triggering a major emergency response and an ongoing investigation.

The shooting occurred at approximately 1:25 a.m. on October 4 in the 900 block of Pine Street, according to preliminary information released by the GBI.
Dooly County Sheriff’s Office deputies were already patrolling the neighborhood block party when they responded to reports of gunfire. When deputies arrived, they found multiple people who had been shot.
Two additional victims were found in the 600 block of Pine Street. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims were identified by the Dooly County coroner as two men, ages 20 and 23. Their names had not been publicly released as authorities continued notifying relatives and investigating the shooting.

The GBI said 35 people were injured in the shooting. The injured victims were transported to several regional hospitals for treatment. Authorities had not released detailed information about the conditions of those wounded as of the latest reports.
The shooting occurred across the Pine Street area during a homecoming-related gathering that drew a large crowd. Local reports described the incident as an apparent mass shooting, but investigators have not yet publicly established a motive or identified those responsible.
