Clouds dominate the sky Thursday with periods of light rain and showers. Temperatures will stay well below Wednesday’s summerlike warmth, holding mainly in the low to mid-60s.

Sunshine breaks out Friday and southwest winds increase. Temperatures surge back into the lower 80s, making it feel more like late summer for one more day.

A strong cold front crosses the region Friday evening into the overnight. Scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm are possible before much colder air arrives.

Saturday will feel dramatically different with bright sunshine, gusty northwest winds, and highs only in the mid-50s. Chilly nights return with some suburbs dipping into the upper 30s.
