NBC’s Dylan Dreyer Switched To A Middle Part And It Beautifully Frames Her Face – Women

NBC “Today” co-host and meteorologist Dylan Dreyer typically wears her hair in a side part, but on October 28, 2026, Dreyer showed off a middle part. “Before we do anything else, I think we should take a moment and acknowledge Dylan Dreyer’s new haircut,” co-host Craig Melvin said on Today. “Guys, I parted my hair in the middle,” Dreyer told Melvin and Al Roker. Dreyer explained that she typically parts her hair on the right side, but tried something different thanks to stylist Kim Russo.

Center parts can transform the focal point of the face, and Dreyer made mention of its remarkable ability to change her apperance. “I can change my whole look very easily,” Dreyer told her co-hosts. “It’s like Superman. You know, you put on the glasses, and you’re a whole new (person).” Roker joked, “I can’t do a part.”

Dreyer does continue to transform and grow. Side-by-side pictures highlight Dreyer’s gorgeous transformation from being a middle-schooler to a grown woman. Dreyer’s blond lob, complete with a sleek center part, emphasizes her investment in experimenting with different styles and trends. And no wonder! She looks great in everything, but that center part is particularly fetching.

Dylan Dreyer proves that middle parts look great on women over 40

There’s an ongoing divide among generations: side parts vs. middle parts. Younger generations, particularly Gen Z, have claimed the center part as a more modern and flattering look than the side part. Meanwhile, older generations, particularly older millennials, have taken a firm stance against center parts and cling to their beloved side parts. But Dylan Dreyer proves that the center part is for everyone. And amongst the most flattering haircuts for women over 50, Dreyer’s stylish lob with a center part makes the cut.

However, certain parts do look better on certain facial shapes, and the divide has nothing to do with age. For those with rounder faces, a middle part can be very flattering, creating an illusion of elongated features. For those with square or heart-shaped faces, a side part can look great as it can soften features. Side parts are very effective at disguising any asymmetrical features. For those with oval faces, like Dreyer’s, either a middle part or a side part works well. But it also comes down to preference. Center parts are associated with more contemporary beauty trends, whereas side parts have roots in old Hollywood glamour. So it really comes down to whichever part makes a person feel the best. And, like Dreyer, it can be fun to play around with different looks.
