Man critically wounded in afternoon North Lawndale shooting
A man was left in critical condition after he was shot in North Lawndale Friday afternoon, police said.
The 37-year-old man was near the sidewalk in the 3900 block of West Cermak Road around 3 p.m. when he was approached by an unknown person.
The person, armed with a firearm, fired multiple times at the man, officials said.
He was struck several times and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, Chicago police said.
Detectives are investigating.
