Former KTLA anchor Kacey Montoya joins FOX 11 after corporate layoffs

Kacey Montoya is back on television, joining FOX 11 just months after corporate layoffs ended her run at KTLA.

The popular Los Angeles weathercaster made her return Thursday evening, marking her first on-air appearance in six months.

She gave viewers a glimpse inside her new newsroom through an Instagram Reel, which showed her preparing weather maps and rehearsing for an upcoming segment.

“This is the first time I’ve been on air in six months since we worked at the other place,” she said.

Montoya confirmed the move in a message to her followers, writing: “You can see me back on TV this Thursday evening on @foxla.”

She also previewed Southern California’s Halloween forecast, sharing weather maps from Tuesday night and asking fans whether rain could disrupt the holiday.

The news prompted an enthusiastic response from colleagues at both stations. KTLA meteorologist Vera Jimenez commented, “Yay! So glad you’re back on!!”

FOX 11 anchor Brooke Thomas also welcomed her new colleague, writing, “Yay, can’t wait for our first newscast together!”

Montoya left KTLA in April as part of corporate layoffs, not because she had been individually fired.

Following her final broadcast, she devoted herself full time to Fix’n Fidos, her animal welfare nonprofit, which helps fund spay-and-neuter services throughout Southern California.
