Disney to Cut Up to 200 Jobs Across Its Theme Parks Division

Disney is eliminating as many as 200 positions within its Experiences division, with most of the layoffs reportedly centered at the company’s Imagineering campus in Glendale. The cuts come as the entertainment giant reevaluates its spending plans, business priorities and upcoming projects.

The division oversees Disney’s theme parks, resorts and cruise operations, according to reports from Deadline and the Los Angeles Times.

The workforce reduction follows a routine assessment of investments, strategic priorities and project schedules.

Employees affected by the cuts were expected to receive notification by the end of Wednesday, the reports said. The layoffs are confined to Disney Experiences and are not part of a broader companywide reduction.

The announcement arrives as Disney’s signature attractions continue to draw millions of visitors, although attendance has varied among the company’s most popular parks.

Disneyland Park in Anaheim attracted 17.4 million guests, a 0.4% increase that placed it second among theme parks worldwide, according to data from the Themed Entertainment Association.

Disney California Adventure, located next door, also recorded a 0.4% rise, welcoming 10.1 million visitors.

Florida’s Magic Kingdom remained the world’s most-visited theme park, with 17.8 million guests in 2025. Its attendance nevertheless declined by 0.2%.

Those attendance figures are closely tied to Disney’s financial health.

Analysts track visitor numbers carefully because the Experiences division is a major contributor to the company’s overall performance, the Times reported.

Even with strong traffic at several flagship destinations, Disney is taking another look at how it directs capital and sets timelines for major projects.

Neither report specified which projects may be affected by the review or explained the circumstances surrounding individual employees’ departures.
