College Student, 21, Dies After Sudden Medical Emergency
A University of South Carolina student died unexpectedly during her final semester, following a sudden medical emergency. She was 21 years old.
Jordan Elisabeth Chymbor, who was from Cheshire, Connecticut, died on Oct. 17, according to her obituary.
“Jordan experienced a sudden medical emergency that turned tragic, resulting in Jordan’s passing,” her family said on a fundraising page. “We are still awaiting answers, and our family is heartbroken by this unexpected and devastating loss.”
Chymbor was studying neuroscience while working toward a Bachelor of Arts degree. She planned to become a physician assistant and was expected to graduate in December.
Known for her academic excellence and passion for health care, Chymbor maintained a 4.0 GPA.

After college, she hoped to support people affected by eating disorders, her family said.
Her obituary remembered Chymbor for her radiant smile and larger-than-life presence. “Generous, humble, and kind, Jordan was extremely empathetic for those in need,” it said.
“Jordan’s life was far too short, but her love and strength will live on in all who knew her. She was not the largest star in the sky, but she was one of the brightest,” the obituary continued.
A GoFundMe campaign established for Chymbor’s family has collected more than $42,000 to help with medical, travel and funeral costs.
