Car hits pedestrian, critically injuring her in Bronzeville
A 40-year-old motorist was given several citations after hitting a pedestrian and critically injuring her late Thursday in Bronzeville on the South Side.
A white sedan was turning south in the 4700 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive around 11:10 p.m. when the driver struck the person, Chicago police said.
She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where she was in critical condition, police said.
The driver, a 40-year-old man, was cited for failure to exercise due care, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, police said.
