Democrats Plan to Seize UFO Disclosure Agenda From GOP After Midterms

Democrats are preparing to take control of the UFO disclosure debate from Republicans and the Trump administration, accusing them of failing to deliver on promises of greater transparency, according to a House leader.

Democratic lawmakers are preparing to establish their own UFO caucus and select committee if they win control of the House in the midterm elections, congressional insiders told The Post. The effort would effectively replace the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, led by Florida Republican Anna Paulina Luna.

Rep. Andre Carson (D-Ind.), who chaired Congress’ first hearing on UFOs in 2022, has spent years pushing to bring the issue into the mainstream on Capitol Hill.

“Unfortunately, the current administration has not been fully transparent on UAP and has slow walked several of the statutory requirements Congress established for UAP disclosure,” Carson said in a statement to The Post.

He pointed to the Department of Defense’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, which was created to collect, analyze and resolve reports of unidentified anomalous phenomena. Carson said the office has delayed releasing a key historical UAP report for nearly two years.

Carson said the document could provide insight into decades of government investigations into UFO sightings, including whether classified programs were concealed from Congress.

“I’m calling for the immediate release of this report, which is expected to provide additional findings of historical military and intelligence investigations of UAP, including how incidents were investigated, the role of classified programs, and whether relevant activities were appropriately disclosed to Congress,” Carson said in his statement.

Carson’s office did not identify the specific file in question, the statutory deadline it allegedly missed or the location where the report is being held.

Republican insiders are concerned that Democrats could overshadow what may become a signature achievement of the Trump administration by claiming the disclosure issue for themselves.

UFO whistleblower David Grusch has also warned that the Trump administration must move quickly if it hopes to achieve full disclosure.

“It has to happen before Trump leaves because I just don’t trust another president to follow through on the president’s directive,” Grusch told podcaster Joe Rogan during a Sept. 30 appearance.

Rep. Luna did not respond to a request for comment.
