Man, 18, accused of fatally stabbing woman, 18, in Englewood
An 18-year-old man is accused of fatally stabbing an 18-year-old woman to death early Tuesday in Englewood.
Alfredo Tzoy, 18, was charged with murder and was scheduled to appear for a detention hearing Thursday.
Tzoy, of the Englewood neighborhood, was arrested shortly after the attack, which left the still-unidentified 18-year-old woman dead, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
She was found on the ground in the 7300 block of South Emerald Avenue, with a stab wound to the neck. She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Officers searching the area discovered Tzoy on a nearby porch with a cut to his right hand, police said.
A knife was recovered.
