Indianapolis police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning on the city’s northwest side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to reports of a person shot at approximately 2:15 a.m. on December 20, 2025. The incident took place in the 3900 block of Bonn Drive, near the intersection of West 38th Street and Guion Road.

Victim Found at Scene

When officers arrived, they discovered an individual suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.

Investigation Ongoing

Detectives remained at the scene for several hours as they worked to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting. As of Saturday morning, no suspect information had been released and no arrests had been announced.

Police have not indicated whether the shooting was targeted or if there is any ongoing threat to the public.

Recent Northwest Side Violence

The fatal shooting follows another deadly incident on Indianapolis’ northwest side less than 36 hours earlier. On Thursday, December 18, a shooting in the 3900 block of Gateway Court resulted in the death of 37-year-old Corey Howell. Authorities have not confirmed whether the two incidents are connected.
