Florida Woman Accused of Shooting Rival After Tracking Boyfriend

A Florida woman was arrested over the weekend on attempted murder and other charges after authorities said she tracked her boyfriend to a late-night meeting with another woman and fired into the vehicle.

Katherine Dale Kelly, 24, of Cocoa, told investigators she wanted to “make a point” because she believed her boyfriend, Elijah Baker, was cheating on her again, according to a police report obtained by Space Coast Daily.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office charged Kelly with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, shooting into a vehicle and using a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The alleged shooting took place during the early morning hours Saturday in Port St. John, according to Space Coast Daily.

At about 1:20 a.m., Baker reportedly drove Kelly’s Volkswagen to pick up Angel Adenau, the woman who was later shot.

Kelly allegedly tracked Baker’s whereabouts before taking an Uber to the location.

Authorities said she walked up to the passenger side of the vehicle and fired a single shot through the window, striking Adenau in the left shoulder, Space Coast Daily reported.

After the shooting, Baker drove Adenau to her home, where emergency help was requested. She was later taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Kelly is due back in court on Nov. 24, according to the sheriff’s office.
