Rain Chances Continue Rising Through the Workweek Forecast
Rain chances will stay elevated throughout the forecast period as abundant moisture remains in place across Central Florida and a front stalls over the region.
Tonight
Scattered showers will continue moving from west to east through the early part of Sunday evening, with rain remaining possible through about 9 or 10 p.m. Drier weather is expected to spread across Central Florida by midnight, followed by mostly dry conditions through Monday morning. Overnight lows will remain warmer than average, falling into the mid to upper 70s.
Monday
Rain coverage will increase Monday as deeper moisture moves in ahead of the cold front. The day will begin dry, with a mix of sun and clouds, and those conditions should continue through the early afternoon. By around 2 p.m., scattered storms are expected to develop near and east of I-75. Steering winds will push the storms eastward, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the I-4 and I-95 corridors during the evening commute and into the early evening. High temperatures will reach the low 90s before cooling rain moves in.
Week Ahead
Rain chances will continue increasing through Wednesday as the cold front settles over Central Florida and stalls, producing periods of heavy rain across the region. The front will briefly shift south Thursday, bringing one day of lower rain chances. However, it is expected to move back north Friday, leaving behind enough moisture for above-average rain chances to persist through Sunday. Central Florida could receive roughly 3-5″ of rain through Friday, while some locations—particularly in Flagler and Volusia counties—may see totals of 5-8″ by the end of the event. Flooding concerns will increase, especially during the second half of the week, as already saturated ground limits drainage.
